Bespoke individual yoga therapy sessions tailored to meet the specific physical, mental, and emotional needs of each client, ensuring that the practice is safe and effective. I work with each client (plus family/health team if needed) to set specific health goals  such as improving mobility, managing pain, or reducing anxiety, co-creating sessions to help achieve these outcomes with a view to enhancing quality of life.

Yoga Therapy Benefits include:

  • Mobility and Flexibility: Gentle yoga postures help maintain or improve joint flexibility and muscle strength, which can reduce the risk of falls and improve overall mobility.

  • Circulation and Cardiovascular Health: Yoga promotes better circulation, which is crucial for elderly individuals who may have sedentary lifestyles.

  • Pain Management: Regular yoga practice can help reduce chronic pain, such as arthritis, by reducing stiffness and improving the body's natural pain management systems.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Yoga fosters a connection between the mind and body, which can help clients with dementia remain more present, potentially reducing confusion and anxiety

  • Improved Sleep Quality: Relaxation techniques that can help improve sleep patterns, which is particularly beneficial for dementia patients who often struggle with sleep disturbances.

  • Improved mental wellbeing: Breathing and mindfulness practices help reduce stress and anxiety, common issues in both care home residents and among dementia patients., contributing to improved mood and reduced symptoms of depression.
